ACADEMY OF AMERICAN POETS 2004 UNIVERSITY AND COLLEGE
POETRY PRIZE.
This prestigious national organization is the "largest dedicated
to the art of poetry." "The Academy publishes prize-winning
poems, and a plan is underway for an annual supplement focusing
on the prizes." Open to all undergraduate students. $100 prize
for best poem(s). Maximum of five poems may be submitted.
THE MITCHELL ADELMAN MEMORIAL SCHOLARSHIP FOR CREATIVE
WRITING.
Open to members of Rutgers College classes of 2004, 2005, and 2006.
$750 award for excellence in creative writing. To be eligible for
this award, a student must have a cumulative grade point average
of 3.16. Either a single work of short fiction or a group of poems
(no less than three and no more than five) may be submitted. Send
submissions to Muffin Lord, Scholarship Administrator, Office of
the Dean, 210 Milledoler Hall, CAC.
EVELYN HAMILTON AWARD IN CREATIVE WRITING.
For the best original story, essay, or group of three or more poems.
Entries may have been written for a course or independently for
this contest. Notes and/or drafts of the work should accompany the
final entry.
EDNA N. HERZBERG PRIZES.
Open only to Douglass College students. Prizes will be awarded for
an essay, for fiction, and for poetry.
